Facilitation
I am an experienced facilitator and teacher with a passion for engaging people in the learning process. I approach facilitation with the deep curiosity that drives most of what I do.
If your group or nonprofit is struggling with clarity in decision-making, implementing change, or otherwise stuck in some way, I am available for hire as an external facilitator or consultant. I am also happy to facilitate retreats or other special meetings. I have decades of practical experience in activist groups as well as the formal research credentials. This all enables me to be very familiar with a variety of tools, techniques, and resources that can support more constructive dialogue and relationships inside your group.
Workshops
The goal of my workshops is for participants to become hopeful and active allies and co-conspirators. My public workshops that are currently open for enrollment can be found here: https://bookwhen.com/drkrausch
I offer a variety of prepared workshops on social justice topics to workplaces and other groups, which will be customized for the needs of your group. Examples:
- Gender Diversity 101 – everything you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask about gender, trans identity, and what nonbinary means
- Trans Ally Practice Space – concrete strategies for welcoming transgender, nonbinary, and gender fabulous people in organizations and in our communities
- Conscious Language – understanding and using conscious language in our work, especially as relates to gender
- Create an Action to Defend Trans Life – course for participants with any range of political experience supporting the formation and execution of a plan in solidarity with the struggle for trans life and dignity using their current networks, social situations, and/or privileges
- Gender Is Not a Dichotomous Variable – trans-affirming practices for researchers and data workers
- Moving beyond the Racial Justice Reading Group – a workshop to understand and engage the call for prison industrial complex abolition in your community
I would love to design workshops specifically tailored to what you need or want to work on in your organization.
What People Say about Working with Me
“This is exactly what I was hoping for: a knowledgeable facilitator who would help us create actionable and realistic goals to support our trans community. I appreciated Meg’s extensive experience on the topic of activism when we were creating our goals. They gave us a lot of insight and wisdom from their experiences as an activist in a variety of categories that gave our own goals depth and tangibility.”
“This workshop was really helpful to me because I learned so many new avenues of activism besides throwing all of my time, energy, and safety on the line. I really liked the in-depth discussion we had and how knowledgeable Meg is about this subject so my ideas have somewhere to flourish.”
“I loved how Meg encouraged us to think in practical, concrete ways. I also liked being able to talk to the other group members about their projects and give feedback. I also liked how it wasn’t super formal but instead very chill. You’ve opened my mind and lit a fire in me to aid my community.”
“Meg conveys a cool confidence—smart, well informed, friendly, kind. The course discussions were my favorite part of the workshops, listening to the questions from participants and Meg’s answers. I enjoyed getting to know the other members of the group. Meg was great about helping us to find projects that fit within our abilities and interests.”
“I appreciated how Meg wove in different decision-making styles throughout the day and their thoughtful approach to prompting and summarizing conversations.”
“Meg facilitated a workshop for SURJ Metro Detroit that introduced key ideas about beginning to write to people who are currently incarcerated. Meg offered a wealth of ideas in a way that felt inviting and accepting. I felt comfortable asking questions and felt very supported while engaging in a new experience that I wanted to treat with great thoughtfulness.”
